Repset

A concept for a sports & fitness app that carries the whole member journey — book a class, check in, track the workout, and message a trainer, all in one place. We shaped the product and designed it for iOS and Android as a sample of how we'd approach fitness.

Repset app — the home screen with today's classes and quick actions

The context

The membership is sold. Keeping it is the hard part.

In fitness, signing a member up is the easy win. What keeps a studio alive is the member who books the next class, turns up, and sees themselves getting stronger — and every point of friction in that loop is a member quietly slipping away.

Repset is a concept built around that loop. The schedule, the booking, the check-in and the progress all live in one app, so booking the next session and seeing why it's worth it are never more than a tap apart.

The challenge

Make the whole journey one tap deep.

A fitness app is used in awkward moments — one-handed on the way to the gym, sweaty mid-set, in a queue at the front desk. Anything that takes four taps instead of two loses the booking; anything that hides progress loses the habit.

So the concept is designed to be calm and glanceable: a clear weekly schedule, spot counts you can read at arm's length, a QR check-in that clears the desk, and progress a member wants to keep going back to — the depth of a whole membership behind one simple next step.

Skills

What we brought to it.

Product strategy

Scoping the member journey — book a class, check in, train, track progress — as one loop.

UX / UI design

Flows, wireframes and a calm, glanceable interface members can use mid-workout.

Prototyping

Interactive prototypes to pressure-test the booking, check-in and tracking flows.

iOS & Android app

One native-quality product concept mapped for both platforms.

Activity tracking

Turning workouts and personal bests into progress a member actually wants to keep.

Design system

A shared orange colour, type and component system across every screen.

What we built

Six things, one fitness app.

01

Class schedule

A weekly timetable of classes with spot counts, so members see at a glance what is on and what is nearly full.

02

Book & waitlist

Reserve a spot in a tap, join a waitlist when a class is full, and cancel to free the spot for the next member.

03

Membership & check-in

Carry the membership in the app and check in with a QR at the door — no card, no queue at the front desk.

04

Workout tracking

Log sessions, sets and reps, and watch personal bests and streaks build up over the weeks.

05

Performance charts

Progress laid out visually — the numbers that turn one visit into a habit worth keeping.

06

Trainer messaging

A direct line to coaches for programme tweaks and check-ins between sessions, kept in one thread.

Under the hood

Built for the moment of use.

The screens are simple; the thinking behind them is not. A fitness app has to survive being used mid-workout and at a busy front desk — so the concept is designed around fast booking, instant check-in, and progress that syncs quietly in the background across both platforms.

Spot-limited booking

Live class counts, waitlists and cancellations so a full class stays full and freed spots roll on.

QR check-in

A tap at the door clears the front desk and records exactly who showed up.

Progress tracking

Workouts, personal bests and streaks that turn effort into something visible and worth keeping.

Trainer messaging

A direct thread to coaches for programme tweaks and check-ins between sessions.

Reminders & notifications

Nudges before a booked class and after a streak, tuned to bring members back without nagging.

Native iOS & Android

One product concept, both platforms, one design system.

“Book, check in, train, track — the whole membership in a member's pocket.”

Design system

One orange, a lot of clarity.

A single confident orange marks every action — book, check in, log, message — against clean white lists, so a whole membership reads as one clear next step at a time.

The outcome

A concept where booking the next class, checking in and seeing progress all sit one tap apart — the loop that keeps a membership alive, designed to feel effortless.

FAQ

About the concept.

What is Repset?

Repset is an illustrative concept for a sports & fitness app — class schedule and booking, membership and check-in, workout and performance tracking, and trainer messaging, all in one place. It is a sample case study showing how Namtech would approach a fitness product, not a delivered client project.

What did Namtech build for Repset?

Repset is a concept, so nothing was shipped to a client — it shows how Namtech would shape and design a fitness app for iOS and Android: the class schedule, booking and waitlists, membership and QR check-in, workout and performance tracking, and trainer messaging, unified by a single design system.

How would a fitness app like Repset help retention?

Retention is the whole game in fitness. A concept like Repset is built around the loop that keeps members paying — frictionless booking, fast check-in, and visible progress and streaks — because a member who books, shows up and sees results is a member who keeps coming back.
