Product strategy
Scoping the product, the businesses that use it and the numbers that matter most.

Case study · Fintech
An accounting and business-management app for Australian businesses — see profit and loss at a glance, run financial reports, manage GST across multiple companies and upload bank statements from your phone. We shaped the product and built it for iOS and Android.
Project name shown for reference and may change subject to the client's brand and copyright.

The context
Small businesses and their bookkeepers juggle income, expenses, GST and often several entities — usually across spreadsheets and a desktop accounting suite that never leaves the office. Owners want to know how a business is really doing without waiting for a monthly report.
This Accounting Revolution puts the numbers that matter — profit and loss, cash flow, the GST position — into a phone. We shaped the product and built the app end to end.
The challenge
Accounting apps are usually dense with tables and jargon. The people who open this one every day are business owners, not only accountants — they needed the key figures up front and the heavy detail one tap away.
So we designed a warm, spacious interface: a dashboard that leads with profit and loss and month-on-month movement, and the deeper machinery — chart of accounts, GST codes, usage splits — organised behind clear, unhurried settings.
Skills
Scoping the product, the businesses that use it and the numbers that matter most.
Flows, wireframes and a warm, spacious interface that makes accounting approachable.
Interactive prototypes to pressure-test the dashboard, reports and settings.
One native-quality product delivered on both platforms from a single design.
Testing on real devices, then App Store and Google Play submission.
A shared cream-and-terracotta colour, type and component system across every screen.
What we built
A profit-and-loss dashboard that leads with income, cost of sales, gross profit, expenses and net profit — each with its month-on-month movement.
Switch between companies in a tap — every business, its ABN and its numbers under a single login.
Cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheet by period, ready to open on the phone or download.
Set GST periods, GST modes and tax codes so returns stay compliant without a spreadsheet.
A full chart of accounts with debit and credit balances and an out-of-balance check.
Upload bank statements from the phone to keep the books current between trips to the desk.
Under the hood
A dashboard is the easy part. Behind it sits multi-entity accounting, a full chart of accounts, GST periods and codes, business-versus-private usage splits, financial-report generation and bank-statement upload — each with its own accuracy and reliability demands, delivered natively on both platforms.
One product, both platforms, built to feel at home on each.
Several companies, each with its own ABN, under one login.
Cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheet, generated per period.
Periods, modes and tax codes to keep returns compliant.
Debit and credit balances with an out-of-balance safeguard.
A shared cream-and-terracotta system across every screen.
“Your profit and loss, GST and cash flow — in your pocket, not locked to a desk.”
Design system
A soft cream canvas keeps dense financial data calm, and a single terracotta accent carries the brand and marks what to act on — so numbers feel approachable, not alarming.

An accounting app owners actually open — the health of a business visible at a glance, with the heavy detail one tap away, wherever they are.
